    Abstract

    Technological developments are increasing, especially in this era 4.0, with information getting faster, it is feared that the exploitation of marine resources is increasingly massive. The purpose of this study is to remind local wisdom that it must still ensure, for the environment and natural resources remain in balanced conditions, such as the existence of  sasi customary in Southwest Maluku (MBD). The study was conducted using qualitative methods through focus group discussions, with the MBD District Government, students, lecturers, and researchers from Pattimura University and the Indonesian Maluku Christian University, and the people of Ambon and MBD Group. Everyone in MBD uses marine resources, the community still values in preserving it by maintaining the tradition of sasi and regulating various rules that have been set, so the marine resources still maintains between generations.
