Abstract

The character of traditional Balinese architecture is very distinctive which shows its identity. Contemporary Balinese buildings are not spared from this manifesto, but try to combine them with the values of Modern Architecture into an eclectic building. Therefore, this study tries to analyze it with a qualitative approach, especially on aspects of the character of the building. This study concludes the results of the analysis, that the traditional Balinese architectural tradition is not only a mere decoration, but also seen in the spatial and construction. Modern values are also accepted in the aspect of awakening and immutability. In general, there are elements that remain, shift, and change by undergoing adjustments based on needs.
